Figgis Gallery, named after the head architect of The Geelong Club: Charles Figgis, aims to platform emerging artists form the Geelong and surf coast region.
Situated in the thriving business district, based on Wadawurrung Country in Djilang/Geelong at the Geelong Club, Figgis Gallery curates exhibitions, and events that respond to what we feel represents Geelong.
The Figgis Gallery is curated by Charlie, Geelong born and bred. Having worked in the arts industry for 7 years, Charlie has had her fingers in a number of artistic pies. From invigilating at the seminal RONE exhibition at Flinders Street Station to being run ragged doing children’s workshops for the National Trust, being offered a role as Gallery coordinator at the Geelong Club has allowed Charlie to truly put her artistic stamp on something.
Geelong: HERE & NOW aims to show the love and pride Charlie has for the city she calls home.
